Provincial championship tumbling into P.G.

One week from today the Prince George Gymnastics Club will play host to more than 550 athletes at the 2013 Artistic Gymnastics B.C. championship.

Alia Wilson has two passions, tumbling and travelling. The 10-year-old's talent for gymnastics has allowed her to fulfill her second love. "It's very exciting because I get to go to Winnipeg," said Wilson.

Cats' scout dies

The Prince George Cougars are mourning the death of scout Rob Charney. The WHL team announced Wednesday that Charney, a Manitoba scout based in Winnipeg, died after a battle with cancer.

Spruce Kings give Hawes two more years

Mike Hawes had his contract with the Prince George Spruce Kings extended for an additional two seasons Thursday. Hawes became the Spruce Kings general manager in November 2010. He joined the B.C.
