Eagles look to fly above Longhorns

The Northern Eagles kickoff against the Longhorns, Sunday at 11 a.m., at Townsend Park in Chilliwack. Prince George fans can tune into the game online at www.bcfootball.tv

Last weekend, the Northern Eagles beat the South Delta Rams 13-9. Montell Lindgren returned a kickoff at the start of the third quarter and Jordan Angove took a pass from quarterback Tyson Plain into the end zone for Prince George's first offensive touchdown of the season.

Eagles defender Reegan Lokken secured the victory with an interception late in the fourth quarter.

The Northern Eagles and Rams are in their first season of the tier 2 football league joining the defending champion Longhorns and Richmond Raiders.

The league is a developmental league for the BCFC and players between 18-20.

Prince George is scheduled to host its first home game Sunday, May 19, 11 a.m., at Masich Place Stadium against the Longhorns. A week later (May 26, 11 a.m.) the Rams will visit Prince George.

The playoffs begin June 2 with the top team playing the fourth-place team and the second and third teams facing off. The winners will play in the championship final slated for June 16.

All playoff games will be played on the Lower Mainland.
