Kettle campaign surpasses $40,000
The Salvation Army's kettle campaign is "doing very well compared to last year," the church said Monday in an update. As of the end of Saturday, $40,235.11 has been raised. As well, the Tree of Lights campaign is now at $5,559.

Man sentenced for fatally striking former local man with truck
A Chilliwack man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison followed by a two-year driving prohibition for fatally striking down a former Prince George man with his pickup truck. Gary Allain, 64, was issued the term Nov. 12 for an Aug.
