The efforts of Prince George Fire Rescue were not enough to prevent $400,000 worth of damage to a 5900-block Landooz Road home on Sunday night.
Fifteen firefighters from three halls were called to the scene at 7:45 p.m., but by the time they had arrived, the two-story home was completely ablaze, PGFR assistant fire chief John Law said in a press release.
All they could do was protect nearby vehicles, as well as a boat and travel trailer, and prevent the fire from spreading into the adjacent forest area.
No one was home at the time and there were no reported injuries.
The fire's cause remained unknown but did not appear to be suspicious.
