Across America, everyone is up in arms about the issue of gun control again. It's understandable, given the tragedy that occurred in San Bernardino last week, and of course our hearts and prayers go out to the victims of this terrible crime.

Given the politics of our times, I suppose it's not surprising that UNBC's recent chancellor appointment should raise some level of controversy.

It's a good thing that there is a system to elect the chancellor for the university; otherwise it would have a Liberal flag flying from the post.

I have been a vocal critic of the appointment of Mr. James Moore as UNBC's next chancellor since his appointment was announced. I will not rehash here all the valid reasons as to why this was an inappropriate choice.
