Emma Balazs had the fleetest feet. Balazs, a Grade 10 student at Kelly Road secondary school, was the north central zone's top-placing athlete at the cross-country running high school provincial championships, held in Victoria on the weekend.

Viking Cats solid down south

The Viking Construction Cougars got some results they can build on. The Cats, Prince George's peewee Tier 1 rep hockey team, were in Kelowna and Kamloops for weekend games in the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association.

Cougars find some leaks in Oil Kings

Special teams led to a special night for the Prince George Cougars. In a Friday Western Hockey League game at CN Centre, the Cats went 4-for-9 on the power play and also scored a shorthanded goal in a 6-3 win against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
