In their first year as partners, Lana Ryan and Patti Montagnon were on the money at the BMO Ladies Best Ball.

In the Sunday golf tournament, held at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club, Ryan and Montagnon claimed the low gross title with a score of 84.

"We played well together as a team, but we did miss some shots out there," Ryan said. "It was just our short game where we suffered. We did lip out on quite a few putts -- probably five or six."

While they may have had some trouble reading the greens, Ryan and Montagnon sure didn't have any problems getting to them. Their tee shots and approach shots were sharp all day long.

Ryan is now a multiple winner of the annual event.

"It's just a really fun tournament," she said.

Montagnon said she and Ryan will "absolutely" win again next year, but then couldn't stifle a laugh.

In the low net category, Pat Broadfoot and April Bowman were the winners. They carded a 65.

All four golfers were awarded gift cards for the PGGCC pro shop or clubhouse.

The next event at the course is the Junior Simon Fraser Open, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
