The stars have aligned to provide the ultimate in local entertainment.

The Groop art gallery will open its doors Saturday and is host to 21 artists showcasing their work that fits the theme Celebration.

The Shape of a Girl, a play presented by D.P. Todd secondary school, will be showcased Tuesday at 7 and 9 p.m. at Vanier Hall. The play written by Joan McLeod of Vancouver parallels the extreme bullying circumstances surrounding the Rena Virk murder.

The stage will light up May 1 with the sights and sounds of a drag show. The Prince George Pride Society is holding a fundraiser for the upcoming Pride festivities in July. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the P.G. Hospice Society.

Sir Elton John will make his first ever Prince George appearance July 16 at CN Centre at 8 p.m.
