Last week, along Stoney Trail in Calgary's northwest, where housing developments with names like Panorama Hills, Royal Oak and Mount Pleasant spread outwards as haphazardly as the arms of an octopus, a silver late-model Lexus sedan passed on the left

As I sit in my office, typing at the computer, I do not feel like I am moving. However, this is only a perception based on looking at the world around me. In fact, I am actually moving very, very fast or not at all.

We kept our guardian angels on a frenetic pace whenever the fresh smell of sap stained the palms of our busy little hands. The cedar-sweetened scent of the shady rainforest beckoned, daily, and a near-death adventure invariably followed.

It is my understanding that when a person gets to the age of 50 years or older it seems a lot harder to get a job in Prince George or anywhere else.

In the past week gasoline prices jumped by 10 cents a litre. There isn't any justification for this excessive increase with a barrel of crude worth $47.30 as of Aug. 26. I haven't heard of any government tax increase.

Time for change? The new federal divorce laws enacted a few years ago are supposedly fairer than ever before and are intended to reduce the fighting between ex-spouses and streamline the whole divorce process.

The Royals are not coming to Prince George.
