There is plenty of controversy around Bishop Fergus O’Grady, who served as a priest in the Kamloops Indian Residential School during the 1940s before he came to Prince George to head the diocese.

Canadians are ready for the borders to be re-opened and will be flocking to sun destinations this winter like never before.

The news this past week of an unmarked burial site at a residential school in Kamloops is an unspeakable tragedy. The new comes as a great shock to many.

At its heart, history is supposed to be a true and accurate record of events, especially public events.

It must mark the start of a substantial progressive move forward for Indigenous peoples

The trash goes out on Friday, when people are looking ahead to their weekend. By the time Monday rolls around, there will be something else to dominate the news agenda and the garbage the people in power don’t want you to notice is buried.

Thanks to the internet, I was recently reunited over the phone with a dear friend who I lost contact with 35 years ago.

On Tuesday, June 1, we gathered together at the Prince George City Hall to honour the 215 children who were found at the Kamloops Residential School.

I have just read our mayor’s comments on all the government housing that is being planned for Prince George.

What struck me as well about the discovery in Kamloops was my personal connection to it.  A man whom I consider a dear friend and mentor was the principal of this school in the 1940s.
