"Bright spots" in Cariboo economy last year

The recession and resource downturn cut a deep swath through the Cariboo region's economy last year but some economic gains were made, according to a "regional check-up" released Wednesday by the Chartered Accountants of B.C.

The Citizen's readership is the highest it's been since 2003, according to the Newspaper Audience Databank (NAD) 2009 readership survey. NAD is a non profit organization in Toronto that conducts readership surveys every two years via telephone.

A fire bomb, officially known as a Molotov cocktail, ignited a fire in a Prince George residential complex in the 2200 block of Quince Street, but fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze before any damage was done to the structure.
