Metis housing under review

There has been a wholesale board and senior management change at the Prince George Metis Housing Society, and B.C. Housing has undertaken an internal review of the housing organization, The Citizen has learned.

Proposal advanced to public hearing stage

A proposal to subdivide 2.8 hectares at 779 Foreman Road into three new lots was advanced to the public hearing stage during Monday night's city council meeting. Currently, a single-family dwelling is situated on the property's southeast corner.

Council of Seniors in search of bigger digs

The Prince George Council of Seniors needs more room. Addressing city council on Monday night, PGCOS manager Lola-Dawn Fennell said the group needs a home about twice the size of its current 2,000-square-foot location at 1055 Fifth Avenue downtown.

Teleconference approved for two councillors

Two city councillors will be able to attend two meetings next month via teleconference. City council agreed to extend the courtesy to Coun. Cameron Stolz for the Feb. 1 regular meeting and to Coun. Garth Frizzell for the Feb. 10 budget meeting.

Free transit for torch celebration

Free transit will be provided to the Olympic torch relay celebration later this month. Deploying two buses at each of Spruceland and Pine Centre, they'll shuttle passengers to Exhibition Park and back during the evening of Jan.
