Prince George's duo is still in The Amazing Race Canada heading into episode 7.
Siblings Grace Dove and Joe Syme took fourth place in episode 6 as the remaining seven teams headed to Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships of Quebec to test their skills in a series of challenges.
Dove is a Canadian Screen Award nominated actor who appeared in The Revenant as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife; Alaska Daily, a television series with Hilary Swank and in How It Ends with Forest Whitaker, as well as the movie and television series Bones of Crows. Dove lives in Vancouver now but was born and raised in Prince George.
Syme is a diamond driller from Prince George.
It seemed the siblings decided to work smarter, not harder as they approached each challenge in a more strategic way.
The first choice for the detour was Stage Fright or Wall Sight where teams had to decide between an acting gig speaking in French or taking a self-guided tour to spot several items in each of six murals around town.
Knowing the language was a huge advantage for some teams who took on Stage Fright while others opted for the more physical challenge of running through Sherbrooke to take in the sights.
The Two Rebeccas team asked to partner with Grace and Joe on the Wall Sight challenge to cut their work in half as each pair visited three murals and met up to trade information. It worked great, giving each team a boost towards the Gladiator Challenge where a player from each team would try to knock their opponent off a balance beam with a foamie to receive their next clue.
Joe decided to playfully go all Karate Kid with the classic crane pose before sending Lacey off the beam to await her next challenger.
The next adventure was in a bicycle racing velodrome where the banks of the track are steep.
Cyclists had to stay above the blue line about halfway up the bank for two laps to be able to go on to the next challenge.
Joe, a marathon runner, had no problem speeding along the banked track.
The brother and sister then went onto the goat yoga challenge to do the three poses required, including a team pose. Each pose saw a goat on the back of the competitors.
The Amazing Race Canada is hosted by skeleton bobsled Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery and based on the popular U.S. version.
The reality competition show challenges teams of two as they race across the country — and sometimes beyond — completing physical and mental challenges in pursuit of a grand prize of $250,000 courtesy of FUZE Iced Tea, a trip around the world and two 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS.
Leading the pack during every episode but one are best friends Jesse Harink and Jonathon Braun from Vancouver who are representing their 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
A pass given to a team to delay their progress during game play stopped Harink and Braun just long enough for EB and Blake Burnett, a pair of athletic brothers from Toronto, to take the lead and win a trip to Bangkok, Thailand from Expedia along with $10,000 while Boost awarded them an additional $5,000.
The Two Rebeccas, best friends Rebecca Merasty from Saskatchewan and Rebecca Watt from the Northwest Territories, were eliminated during this leg of the race.
Next on The Amazing Race Canada the six remaining teams will head to Eastern Ontario and previews show that helicopters and a donkey will come into play.
The next episode airs on Tuesday, Aug. 26 on CTV.
