It’s finally Prince George’s time to shine on The Amazing Race Canada.
Previews for Episode 5 were shown at the end of Episode 4 on CTV Tuesday evening that showcased the next stop on the Canadian adventure race in Prince George.
Scenes were shown at the Aquatic Centre and the Charles Jago Sport Centre up at UNBC. Episode 5 will air on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
In Episode 4, Prince George sibling besties Joe Syme and Grace Dove took seventh place after being a little too Canadian polite during the competition, which cost them precious time during the race.
Brothers Ethan (EB) and Blake Burnett from Toronto pulled a fast one on Dove and Syme to get the upper hand and raced to the finish line ahead of everyone else, taking full advantage of their anything-for-the-win trickery.
Rewarded for their efforts, the Burnett brothers won a trip to Amsterdam and $10,000 in cash from Expedia.
Coming in a close second was the pair that have won the first three legs of The Amazing Race Canada, best friends Jesse Harink and Jonathon Braun from Vancouver who are representing their 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
During Episode 4, for the first time in the television series’ history, contestants visited the Arctic Ocean during a pit stop and also stopped in the communities of Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk in the Northwest Territories. During the show, contestants ate traditional Indigenous food, tested their strength, endurance and pushed their physical limits as they played northern games, took on a dog-sledding challenge, learned the language or made toys, and had to successfully complete a Canadian satellite dish puzzle that was the ultimate undoing for one duo.
Dove and Syme seemed a bit shaken when they came in seventh out of eight remaining teams. Perhaps in the Prince George episode they'll take a bolder approach to ensure that they will not be taken advantage of during their hometown challenges.
The Amazing Race Canada is hosted by skeleton bobsled Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery and based on the popular U.S. version.
The show challenges teams of two as they race across the country — and sometimes beyond — completing physical and mental challenges in pursuit of a grand prize of $250,000 courtesy of FUZE Iced Tea, a trip around the world and two 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS vehicles.
New episodes of The Amazing Race Canada air every Tuesday on CTV.
