A 27-year-old man from Prince George is facing multiple charges after crashing an alleged stolen pick-up truck in B.C.’s southern interior.
According to Lytton RCMP, after investigators examined the scene to find what were believed to be more stolen items inside the truck, Justin Bjorklund has been formally charged with the following:
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Possession of identity documents
- Breaching probation order (Two counts)
On Monday morning (April 27), police responded to dispatches of a grey Dodge Ram 2500 pick-up reportedly stolen from the area of Blue Lake Road in Boston Bar and was seen travelling on Highway 1 above the posted speed limit.
After 8 a.m., officer spotted a vehicle matching its description heading east towards Lytton, appeared to leave the travel portion of the road and ended up in a collision.
The RCMP Southeast District says the driver had to be ‘extricated from the wreckage by fire officials and transported by BC Emergency Health Services Air Ambulance to a regional hospital for medical attention.’
Bjorklund was released from hospital and charged by the BC Prosecution Service; it’s unclear at this time if he was treated for minor or serious injuries.
Lytton RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen the incident to call the detachment at 250-455-2225.
