Alward Street shooting being investigated by Prince George RCMP

Prince George police are investigating a shooting from early this morning (April 27).

At about 2:30 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near Sixth Avenue and Alward Street.

Multiple frontline officers attended the area immediately and evidence of a shooting was found in a near-by alley, however, no victims or suspects were initially located.

Later on, a vehicle was found with apparent bullet holes and was associated with an address near the scene. 

RCMP spoke to the vehicle's driver, but is not cooperating with police at this time.

The investigation has led officers to believe that this was a targeted incident related to the drug trade.

Mounties have allocated a number of resources to this investigation with the goal of identifying the person or persons involved.

Details are expected to be released once they become available.
