I would like to thank David Mah for his beautiful photo featured on the front page of last Tuesday's Citizen. It was such a pleasure to have something other than smashed up vehicles to start our day.

In the Dec. 28 Citizen, there is a letter by Svend Serup regarding his views about the "environmentally benign bitumen extraction by big oil companies" in the Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo region of Northern Alberta.

Well I'll be damned. Mike de Jong is going to try to get the voting age lowered to 16 years. I guess he thinks because he thought of it, he'd get them on his list. Good luck with that. Why is anyone in a hurry to take over control of B.C.

If you really want to spruce up our city, take a lesson from other cities that are lucky enough to be situated by rivers. Clean up the area. Establish walking trails with benches. Offer riverboat rides.
