Some research should be done about this section of highway ["Collision kills three," The Citizen, Dec. 15]. The winter maintenance for this section has been atrocious in the past few years.

There is another push to dump the much-maligned penny. It turns out the cost of making the darned thing is half again as much as it's worth.

Dear Santa, How have you been this year? I have been "OK." I have tried to be good and I think that I have but I am sure that there are people that would disagree. So I am not going to ask for presents for myself this year.

In writing this letter I am speaking to the blatant demonstration of insensitivity shown by the publisher and editors of The Citizen for their choice of the front-page picture of Tuesday's Highway 16 accident.

I wanted to take the time to pass on a heartfelt thanks to the many people who have stopped me on the street, malls, emailed or called with their kind words of support.

I am dismayed, no, disgusted with many of the recent articles I have read/seen in The Citizen. I refer specifically to the pre-sentence hearing of Joseph Fowlie and secondly to the photo of the tragic accident scene at Jutland Road.

Bravo! Once again The Citizen has shown its compassion to the public.

About a year ago, there was an article in The Citizen featuring the Gift of Hope charity, in which I was interviewed.
