Part one of two The Citizen newsroom made its pick for the Canadian Press newsmakers of the year Thursday in an online poll. The exercise is a valuable one as we look back on the year that was.

In The Fast Leyne

On November 23rd, I ended up in emergency with a badly bruised shoulder. One week later, the emergency doctor phoned me on Saturday evening to find out how I was doing.

Since the news came out about Prince George coming out on top of the list of the most dangerous city in Canada, I've have been, like most of the residents in our city, baffled, annoyed and frustrated. News like this punches us in our collective guts.

Why did Mr. P.G. cross the road? While driving by Mr. P.G. on Saturday night, I asked my kids that question. I was amused by their many interesting answers. Here are some of the funnier ones: Gianna, 5, answered "Because he wanted to eat the chicken.

How many times have you uttered "Shari Green" from your lips? Too many times, that's how many! I have never really been that involved with the politics of Prince George, or any politics for that matter.

Re: signed editorial Thursday, December 6th. Thanks to Neil Godbout for eloquently expressing the view held by an ever-increasing number of Canadians: Quebec really has no place in Canada and should be allowed, perhaps encouraged, to go its own way.
