I wonder if us Hart Highway people will get a New Year's gift from our Mayor and get our roads here plowed? They are such a mess, with hard snow ruts that bounce you right out of lanes and no sand in sight.

AWAC (An Association Advocating For Women And Children) is a non-profit organization which operates an emergency shelter, drop in, a supported housing program and outreach services to marginalized and vulnerable women and female youth.

I understand that this topic is as tired as I am of driving on the streets in Prince George during the winter. Yet everyone I talk to has the same take on the situation which appears to elude our Mayor and Council.

Search and Rescue men and women are heroes. They are selfless and ready to put their lives on the line every day. No one could ever question their willingness to immediately head out as soon as they get a call for help.

It was interesting to read Bruce Strachan's latest column cautioning his readership to beware of the NDP and their big labour partners. He suggests that labour and by definition unions can do nothing but harm to the B.C. economy.

I believe that when the Province of BC has a "zero" wage increase policy the same should hold true for municipalities including P.G. Any wage increases should be funded through savings found internally.
