As I See It

On Nov. 27 I went to a hockey game Prince George Spruce Kings and the Langley River men. When I arrived at my seat the building was cold the staff had not turned the heaters on.

Ukraine once again finds itself caught between major forces to the west in Europe and to the east in Russia.

Two weeks ago I wrote about Bernard Kerik a former New York City Police Commissioner who was convicted of tax evasion and who went to jail for his crime. Kerik discovered that mandatory minimums sentences far exceeded the nature of the crime.

Yesterday as I was filling up my tank at the price of 112.9 I had to laugh. Two of Neil Godbout's editorials from the last couple of months popped into my head.

Tuesday's tentative public-sector wage deals turn conventional wisdom on its head. Negotiators have signed an unprecedented five-year deal that covers one-quarter of the unionized public sector, the longest term ever.

Suggestion for those at City Hall who are responsible for spending our tax money wisely - remove immediately the fluoride from our water.

Like many teenagers of the 1980s, I found out who Nelson Mandela was through protest songs. He had already been in a South African prison for more than 20 years when Sun City came out in 1985, a protest song by the Artists United Against Apartheid.

I am shocked to find that our city administration is up to such dirty tricks on their own employees. Hiring a polling company to sabotage their unionized employees is disgusting and shameful.
