Tracey Jones took perhaps the longest road to the B.C. Scotties.

The Northland Dodge Cougars had their game in overdrive. The Cougars, who compete in the B.C. Hockey Female Midget AAA League, picked up six of a possible eight points during a weekend road trip to the Lower Mainland.

Bragging rights in the peewee girls invitational hockey tournament were on the line and the Prince George Scotiabank female Cougars found themselves up against familiar foes.

After two lopsided wins, the D.P. Todd Trojans got a true test in the championship game. But, with the PGSS Polars as their opponents, they were still victorious in the Trojan Wars senior boys basketball tournament.

Prince George Cougars forward Todd Fiddler was named Western Hockey League player of the week on Monday. For the week ending Jan. 12, Fiddler had five goals and nine points in four games.

The 2014 edition of the B.C. Scotties was a roaring success. Organizers say the provincial curling championships, hosted at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club Jan. 6 - 12, went beyond expectations.
