Timberwolves teams building for Canada West success

For the second straight year the senior girls from Prince George secondary dribbled their way to the Condor Classic championship. The PGSS Polars held off the host Duchess Park Condors 59-49 to maintain their unbeaten record on the season.

The year 2012 was one of the most significant in the history of UNBC athletics. In September, UNBC teams played their first-ever games in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association.

Isaiah Berra was the overtime hero as the Prince George secondary Polars battled back from a three-goal deficit to down the College Heights Cougars 7-6 in the 10th annual Spirit of Hockey and Community Cup game between the two high schools.

The Coast Inn of the North Cougars will take slapshots and dish out bodychecks in one of Canada's elite minor hockey tournaments. The midget Tier 1 Cats are entered in the Richmond International, which starts on Dec. 27 and runs until Dec. 31.
