The UNBC Timberswolves men's basketball team put the bite on the University of Manitoba Bisons in their first game of the season on Friday. The T-wolves spoiled the Bison's home opener in Winnipeg with a 77-71 victory.

The new and improved Kin 1 arena is expected to open sometime in late December or early January and Lina Hiller can hardly wait.

Prince George judo athletes were masters of the mat at the B.C. Winter Games Zone 8 playdowns on the weekend. During the meet, held Saturday at the Northern Sport Centre, seven local judokas topped their weight categories.

Representatives of the Prince George Gymnastics Club were handed three awards at a Gymnastics B.C. banquet Saturday in Burnaby. The PGGC was recognized twice for the job it did in hosting the 2013 B.C.
