Highway 97 avalanche could be cleared this afternoon

Provincial officials are hopeful to have an avalanche that closed Highway 97 north of Prince George on Sunday cleared by this afternoon. The slide took place in the Pine Pass about 70 kilometres north of the Mackenzie highway junction.

Woman found dead on reserve

Pine Pass reopens after avalanche

The Pine Pass on Highway 97 between Prince George and Chetwynd, which was closed by an avalanche on Sunday, has reopened. The avalanche covered the highway, about 70 kilometres south of Chetwynd, with as much as two metres of avalanche debris.

From Prince George provincial court Jan. 14 Caylin Zachary Lee Bolin was sentenced to 14 days in jail intermittent and a six-month suspended sentence and fined $500 for driving without a licence.
