If you love the drive-in and Metallica, then there’s an event coming up that may be just for you.
The legends of heavy-metal rock will be hitting drive-in screens across North America, including Prince George’s Park Drive-In Theatre, with a special Encore Live Presentation.
“It’s been a crazy, hectic, thrilling and exciting time at Metallica HQ as the four of us have all been in the same room making music for the first time in almost a year! ‘What’s going on?’ you ask? We’re recording a concert to appear at your local drive-in theatre… that’s what!” the band said in a statement on its website.
Metallica will be the first rock band to be featured in the Encore Drive-In Nights series, with a full set screening on Saturday, Aug. 29 at hundreds of drive-in and outdoor theatres across Canada and the United States.
“We’ve been rehearsing at HQ for a show that will be shot especially for the drive-ins at a location nearby later this week and then we’ll pass it off to our award-winning production team to then be edited and mixed at the highest standards possible to be beamed into your cars from the big screen.”
Three Days Grace will be the opening act.
Tickets for the show go on sale Friday (Aug. 14).
The exclusive concert will adhere to COVID-19 guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as all state and local public health mandates.
Encore Drive-In Nights is partnering with leading health experts to establish procedures for staff and fans.
