On Our Radar: City-wide scavenger hunt a chance to explore Prince George parks

Solve clues, follow COVID-19 protocols to win prizes at free community event

Prince George has dozens of parks for residents to enjoy no matter the weather.

But, have you been to all of them? Are there some you haven’t visited yet?

Connect PG is hoping to get people outside and discover the city’s nature, while putting their problem-solving skills to the test, by hosting The Grand Park Race on Aug. 29.

Teams of four will have four hours to complete the community-wide course.

In an ‘Amazing Race’ setting, challenges will need to be completed along the way to earn the next clue, which will lead to the next destination and are put together by partnering organizations.

Prizes will be handed out when participants reach the finish line at the final location, which will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Connect PG says there are COVID-19 safety protocols its asking interested groups to follow.

The non-profit is requiring everyone to wear a face-covering when they get to each park and interact with the people at a challenge station.

Social distancing is also encouraged and if another team is ahead, you’re asked to wait until they’ve completed the challenge.

The Grand Park Race is set for Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You can register for free on Connect PG’s EventBrite page, and reach out to the organization via its website for more information.
