Veteran cabinet minister Rich Coleman is coming to Prince George to discuss liquefied natural gas developments in northern B.C.
As Minister of of Natural Gas Development and vice-chair of both the Cabinet Working Group on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and the Priorities and Planning Committee, he is the government's quarterback for the burgeoning industry.
The majority of B.C.'s natural gas deposits are located in the northeast region of the province, and in order to sell the provincial oversupply of LNG to world markets, port facilities must be built on the west coast, plus pipelines will need to link the deposits to the ports. A number of proposals are in the environmental assessment process now, or soon will be, according to expressed intentions by a number of large companies.
Coleman's speech at the Twisted Cork happens April 11. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
