If you're hurting for a country night out, head to the CN Centre to check out Corb Lund May 9 where he and his long-time backing band the Hurtin' Albertans are headlining the Pilsner Bush Bash with a honkytonk cabaret show.
The show comes on the heels of Lund's 2012 album Cabin Fever, which traipses a sonic span from rockabilly to Western swing, cowboy balladry to country rock and the occasional yodel.
Named Canadian Country Music Association's Roots Artist of the year for seven consecutive years, Lund and his three-piece band promise a spontaneous show.
"[Band member Grant Siemens] and I have a complex system of hand signals because I don't use a set list," said Lund. "We've got seven records' worth of material now, so every show is different. I find it more interesting that way."
One lucky person will also win a trip to the Saskatchewan Roughriders home opener, including game tickets, accommodations and $500 towards travel courtesy of Molson and The Wolf 97 FM.
Tickets for the Pilsner Bush Bash go on sale Friday, March 1 at 12 p.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets. Passes are general admission, with a limited number of reserved floor table tickets available. Ticket holders must be 19 years of age and older.
