It's nice to see Kyle learning his political lessons. A few years ago he faced backlash from the public after referring to the homeless as "losers" and saying "they don't deserve empathy or sympathy". Now, he can host photo credible barbeques to give the optics he cares about the issue. (while still not addressing or helping to do anything real about it.)

I hate to say it but there is no incentive to stay in B.C or to come to B.C. as a medical professional, specifically a doctor. They're at a point where they have free reign of choice to go where they please. Not to mention if we knew this crisis was coming and all the boomer era doctors were going to retire eventually we should have taken more action to replace them and to promote schooling and funding for those with a passion in the medical field. Looking at it now, no one wants to take on upwards of 200 thousand dollars of debt and 6-10 years of their life pursue a career as a doctor when you can do a lot less intensive and time consuming schooling and make more. I'm only in my 30s if someone came up to me and told me my living expenses and schooling were paid for if I signed an agreement to stay local for X amount of years after completion, if I passed successfully, or had to pay it all back if I dropped out or couldn't hack it.

Kyle Sampson is probably one of the most disingenuous people we've ever had on city council. Everything he does is smoke and mirrors to give optics that he is for the community when in reality he is only focused spreading his name further. Which would be ok if it was mutually beneficial, politicians gain reputation by the deeds they do and the actions they take. Kyle has shown us nothing, except that he is good at making backroom deals and taking selfies.

Is it municipal election time yet? Reminder to everyone, voting is important even at the municipal level. Only 15k votes in 2022.

We're creating more than we are receiving. If you ever work with at risk youth you realize the system is simply failing them, we're talking children who don't have parents in their lives and are in a system that is failing them like overburdened group homes and social services. But you know who does have time for them? Seemingly sympathetic drug peddlers who are turning a lot more CHILDREN than ever before into mindless zombies who steal for them so they can get their next fix. It's our children of PG who are ending up on the streets and I see it every day.

I mean, Shirley Bond was there for about 20 years with little to no problems.

The corrections industry is hurting for employees across the province. (low pay vs. high stress job) I've always wonder if that had to do with the catch and release policies? That and as Lou pointed out, is very costly to jail individuals, that money is better used to line pockets than for the services the government is supposed to provide.

I drive down 3rd where it turns into 5th heading towards central, everyone rushing to get home doing 70+ like there aren't 4 cross walks in sequence. No one slows down or even looks for people crossing. It's getting ridiculous, and I get honked at and almost rear ended for stopping for the nice lady who always waves at traffic when she's waiting to cross with her walker.

"largely by a sharp drop in non-violent crime"? So, basically our crime rate has been "declining" since open drug use in the streets got decriminalized and just became the norm?
