[Rejecting a new arena] is absolutely terrible news for the city of Prince George and its citizens... even for those who were against this but don't realize how much money will be wasted for very little gain.

It's good to see a positive news story coming out of the Baldy Hughes Addiction Treatment Centre and Therapeutic Community as three more of its clients were awarded high-school equivalent B.C. Adult Dogwood certificates late last month.

The perennial gardens at the Studio 2880 complex on 15th Avenue has become a thing of beauty with the help of a grant from Enhance PG and with many of the plants donated by our members. At least it was until this week.

Is our Mayor Dan Rogers spending all of his waking moments clicking on the Prince George Citizen site for the question of the week poll and skewing the vote results for the new arena? Nah, that is just plain ridiculous.

Question is, if council can revisit the OK'ing for a new arena and overturn their previous votes, it is possible (to me it makes sense) that they should be revisiting their pay increases as well.

So a new arena isn't in the cards for now, thanks to Mayor Rogers, and councillors Frizzel and Munoz.

Being a single mother of two isn't easy. I needed to get some groceries, and my 10-year-old son wasn't feeling well. I couldn't leave him at home so I took him with me.
