Non-emotional politics? What a strange concept. Despite Mr. McLaren's appeal for voter logic, it seems to me he employs an emotional carrot and stick approach in his arguments for the HST.

The referendum on the HST is far too important to decide solely on economics. Whether dollars are being removed from your left pocket or your right is not as important as honest government.

Amongst the many differences between the United States and Canada one that I hold most dear is our unique separation of church and state coupled with our more secular society.

There has been a lot of rhetoric around the issue of the HST. Proponents say it is good for business, opponents say it is a tax shift from business to ordinary taxpayers. No one really backs up their statements with credible logic.

In today's fast paced world, everyone deals with a hectic schedule. It's common to have a full- time job (or maybe even two), and a family or significant other demanding time and attention.

The province excitedly announced this week new measures for a more "open" government. What they have in mind is an easier way for the public to access provincial information, thereby becoming more engaged in provincial decision-making.

Is it just me or have you seen it to? It's amazing a golf course has a quad driver tear up parts of its course, a defacing of a public area by painted graffiti, disrespectful kids giving you the finger.

I am writing to you in regards to the council in Prince George. The potholes in your roads are the worst and deepest holes I have seen. I came over for a wedding and could not believe how bad your roads are. Regards Sheryle White Victoria, Australia
