I was very disappointed to learn that the Wilson Square Market is moving to the parking lot of Pine Centre Mall next month. I live in the downtown area, so its former location at the courthouse was perfect for me.

The Province of Ontario just announced that it is purchasing new electricity from wind, solar and hydro-electric sources. Good for them to be weaning off coal power. And good for our friends in Ontario for moving to more renewables.

The concern people express about the guy being taken down by the RCMP for stealing a truck is little over the top. The fact is these guys took someone's livelihood is the crime and they should consider themselves lucky.

Recent adverts in The Citizen are promoting the term Think Local Support Local. The local chamber of commerce asks what is local? Anne Boogle comments in The Citizen on March 17th that there is an amazing amount of talent locally.

Reading the top story of the Saturday edition I must comment on some of it. The violent take-down by the police certainly made the news and will be an item of controversy for some time. I would have to agree they were pretty rough on him.
