Canada Day is a time to celebrate the amazing country in which we live and the freedoms that come with it. Virtually every community in the country hosts celebratory events year after year without incident.

Tucked away onto a page called Council Policies and Procedures on the City of Prince George's website is a document that explains everything and nothing about how wages and benefits are decided for the senior bureaucrats at city hall.

I went to pick my wife up at the airport last week. I have not been there for awhile. As I am disabled, driving is not too bad. Walking and getting in and out of the car, that's a different story.

I guess the powers that be forgot the cardinal rule of politics -frontload the unsavory at the beginning of your term. The electorate will have forgotten by the time theelection comes around. Oops. Hans Rasmussen Prince George

When the residents of Prince George were asked to come out to help evacuees from the fires last year, the response was overwhelming. Most people that I know volunteered time and resources to make the difficult time a little easier.

My arms look leprous and they are very itchy. Back in May, after a considerable amount of begging from my children, we went to the May fair. It was an absolutely beautiful day after a wretched and wet spring season.
