My letter is in response to Mr. Skakun proposing a local fuel tax. I have lived in both Alberta and British Columbia. After moving back to Prince George from Grande Prairie, I have to say that the taxes we are asked to pay are ridiculous.

When we weren't at the ice rink, my friends and I spent a great deal of time in the pool hall, mastering the art of pinball, and spinning plug nickels into the machines skillfully to get extra plays.

If I were a traveler from near or far and I knew that I had to pay an extra tax if I bought gas or diesel fuel in Prince George, I might just plan my trip so I wouldn't have to fuel up in Prince George.

When is discrimination discrimination? Over the last numbers years, the residents of Prince George have been paying some of the highest prices for fuel in the province.
