There's no crying in marathoning. It's a motto Richard Stewart has always followed, and he came close to breaking it. On Sunday in Kelowna, Stewart finished the 100th marathon of his career.

Call it a preview weekend.

Jessica Manning's debut season with the UNBC Timberwolves women's soccer team was suddenly cut short. The 18-year-old midfielder was benched last Thursday after she woke up with severe abdominal pain.

For the second straight weekend the Prince George Spruce Kings returned home from a three-game B.C. Hockey League road swing with only one win.

It was another perfect weekend for the Cariboo Cougars as they swept another opponent.

Athletes from the Spruce City Skating Club and the Prince George Centre for Skating will be on their blades this weekend in Kamloops. The figure skaters, a dozen of them, will be competing at the Autumn Leaves meet, Friday through Sunday.

The College Heights Cougars proved they can contend with some of the elite senior girls volleyball teams in the province. At the 40-team UBC Okanagan Heat tournament, held in Kelowna on the weekend, the Cougars finished in a tie for fifth place.

Their best player was at home, resting a broken leg. Without him, the UNBC Timberwolves were trying to run with the second-ranked team in Canada.

It was a dominating weekend for the Duchess Park Condors as they swept to victory in the 2012 Jon Bragg Memorial senior boys volleyball tournament.
