Carson Bolduc received his Christmas present early this year. The Prince George Cougars lone 16-year-old was named to Team Pacific for the 2013 World under-17 Hockey Challenge in Victoriaville and Drummondville, Quebec, from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4.

The Duchess Park Condors were calm and efficient in sweeping the double-A high school boys zone final Friday on home court over the College Heights Cougars. The Condors won the best-of-five match 3-0 (25-22, 25-19 and 25-22).

The UNBC Timberwolves basketball teams will try to put a northern chill into the UBC Okanagan Heat tonight at the Northern Sport Centre. The UNBC and UBCO women's teams will tip off at 6 p.m. and that game will be followed by the men's contest.

At six-foot-11, he's a scoring and rebounding whiz. And, next season, Alex Hart could be a member of the UNBC Timberwolves men's basketball team.

The Prince George Cougars have added 20-year-old forward Ryan Hanes to their Western Hockey League roster. Hanes, who started the year with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the B.C.

They have entered seven tournaments this season and have won six of them. If the College Heights Cougars add another title to their collection this weekend, they'll give themselves a shot at the biggest prize of all -- a provincial banner.
