D.P. Todd Trojans took home the trophy with a 60-39 win over Charles Hays in the final Saturday of the CHSS Invitational Jr. boys basketball tournament.
The Trojans were led by all-star Hayden Molcak as they finished the first high school basketball tournament of the season with a 3-0 record. D.P. Todd also beat the Duchess Park Condors 75-28 before winning their semifinal game 69-32 over the Kelly Road Roadrunners.
Kelly Road fell in the third/fifth place game 75-31 to the Nechako Valley Vikings of Vanderhoof while the Prince George Polars beat the Condors 74-45 in the fourth/sixth place game.
The host College Heights Cougars finished eighth after losing 44-42 to the Correlieu Clan of Quesnel.
Other all-stars were Hunter Karvali (CHSS), Nick Stavast (Correlieu), Jasper Y (DPSS), Tyrell Laing (PGSS), David Sephton (KRSS), Caleb Wale (NVSS), Roseendo Masocol (C. Hays).
The next high school basketball action in Prince George is Thursday and Friday when DPSS hosts its annual Condor Classic. The senior boys action begins Thursday at 5:15 p.m. with the Condors playing the Cougars and the Trojans facing off with the Polars. The round-robin tournament continues with games Friday at 12:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
Meanwhile the senior girls tournament features eight teams including the Cedars Christian Eagles, DPSS Jr. Condors, PGSS Polars, NVSS Vikings, KRSS Roadrunners, DPSS Sr. Condors, D.P. Todd Trojans and CHSS Cougars.
Games begin Thursday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and continue all day Friday with the championship final at 4 p.m.
