Pedal to the metal
Racing fans can get their fill of burned rubber, bumper-to-bumper, and metal-to-metal fast-paced action tonight at PGARA Speedway.
It's the annual Hit-to-Pass Extravaganza, with time trials starting at 6 p.m., followed by racing at 7 p.m.
About 10 to 16 drivers and their cars are expected to hit the blacktop and will bump and crash until only one remains to take the checkered flag.
"We'll go until the last car is running or a limit of an hour and a half," said PGARA vice-president Jamie Crawford. "We'll also have [smaller] four-cylinder hit-to-pass cars and during the intermission we'll have a tug-o-war where anybody can bring their car and pull against someone else."
Special admission prices apply to the hit-to-pass; $20 adults, $15 ages 12 to 18; and $5 for ages 6 to 11. Seniors, disabled, and youth under five get in free.
