High school basketball bragging rights for the year are on the line when the top two female and top two male teams meet in the city championships Tuesday night at the Northern Sport Centre.
The senior girls final starts at 6 p.m. and that game will feature the No. 1-ranked College Heights Cougars taking on the No. 2-ranked Duchess Park Condors.
The Cougars, last year’s city champs, advanced after posting a semifinal win last week over the Prince George Polars, while Duchess Park defeated the Cedars Christian Eagles in the other semifinal.
Then at 8 p.m. in the senior boys final, the top-ranked Prince George Polars will tangle with the third-ranked Duchess Park Condors.
PGSS eliminated D.P. Todd from title contention last week in the semifinal round, while the Condors topped Cedars in the other senior boys elimination game.
The Polars were the runners-up in last year’s final, losing to College Heights.
Each year the coaches select 10 female and 10 male players who make up the city all-star teams.
Those selected players will receive their awards at the city championships.
