The Prince George Gnats will try to boost their record to 2-0 today on the rugby pitch.
But it won't be an easy task as the men's side squares off against the Williams Lake Rustlers, who are the defending champions in the B.C. Rugby Union's Central Interior Division.
"Williams Lake is regarded as the team to beat," said scrum-half Per Dodenberg. "We're pretty focused on them and have been preparing for this for the last six weeks."
The two squads will tackle each other in a
2 p.m. contest at the Kelly Road secondary school field. Williams Lake has something to prove as it suffered a 27-19 season-opening loss to the Terrace Northmen on May 23.
The Gnats opened their season a week ago at home with a thrilling come-from-behind 19-17 win against the Northmen.
Dodenberg said despite losing a winger and fly-half in that match, the Gnats have integrated a couple of new players along with some new set pieces and strategies they hope will have success against the Rustlers.
"We'll have a full squad and have a full set of subs," said Dodenberg.
"We plan on rotating everyone in and know if we want to have success we have to do that."
