After months of practice drills, gym workouts and cardio conditioning, the Prince George Kodiaks are ready for some football.
The Kodiaks kick off the new season Saturday, July 19 (6 p.m.) at Masich Place Stadium when they host the Westshore Rebels of Langford.
This is the Kodiaks’ fourth season in the BC Football Conference since the expansion franchise was approved by the league in 2021 and every year their record has improved, from a 1-9 first season in 2022, to a 2-8 record in 2023, the Kodiaks won three of their 10 games last year.
Now, with a veteran-laden roster built on a core of 21- and 22-year-olds who know their way around the league, the Kodiaks expect to make a real push for a top-four playoff position by the time the regular season ends Oct. 4 in Chilliwack with their game against the Valley Huskers.
The Kodiaks are known around the league for the large and rowdy crowds at Masich Place Stadium and Prince George football fans are guaranteed they’ll have at least five games at home to cheer on their team.
The Kodiaks also host the Langley Rams (Aug. 16), the Canadian Bowl-champion Okanagan Sun (Sept. 6), Valley Huskers (Sept. 13) and Kamloops Broncos (Sept. 27).
