The Chilliwack Chiefs kept their B.C, Hockey League title hopes alive Friday night in Chilliwack.
They scored four power-play goals and an empty-netter to defeat the West Kelowna Warriors 5-2 in Game 5 of the Fred Page Cup championship series.
The Warriors still lead the series 3-2 and have a chance to wrap it up with a win tonight in West Kelowna.
Ryan Forbes scored his sixth of the playoffs to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead 12 minutes into the second period, cashing in one of eight opportunities Chilliwack had with the man advantage. Jordan Kawaguchi made it a 3-1 count later into the period, taking advantage of another Warrior penalty.
Down 3-1, the Warriors pulled goalie Keelan Williams late in the third period and Darien Craighead found the empty net. Former Prince George Spruce King, Taylor Allen, then scored on a Chiefs power play at 18:56 of the third, six seconds before Warriors Tyler Anderson collected a shorthanded goal.
Vimal Sukumaran of the Chiefs and Kylar Hope of Warriors, traded goals in the first period. Liam Blackburn, a Prince George minor hockey product, assisted on Hope's power-play goal.
The Warriors started Matthew Greenfield in net and he blocked seven of eight shots in the first period before Williams entered the game to start the second period.
Shots ended up 32-23 in favour of the Chiefs.
Game time tonight is 7 p.m. If Game 7 is needed, it will be played Sunday (7 p.m.) in Chilliwack.
