3D archery tournament happening this weekend

The two-day event will feature a variety of animal-shaped targets on a walking nature trail.

The Silvertip Archers are hosting their annual Outdoor 3-D Tournament at Keith Paterson Field on Aug. 20-21.

Bow hunting season for elk, moose, mule deer and white-tailed deer starts on Sept. 1, and archers will have a chance to put their skills and equipment to the test this weekend.

The Silvertip Archers are hosting an outdoor 3D tournament on Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 20-21) at Keith Paterson Field, located at 6390 Highway 16 E. Archers from across the region will test their skills shooting at 3-D targets representing wild game including moose, elk, deer, bears and more.

The event is open to non-club members and registration is $50 for adults, $25 for cadets, cubs and pre-cubs, and peewee shooters are free. A $100 family registration is also available.
