A 16-year-old male has died as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident on the outskirts of the city on Highway 16. The unlicensed driver was the lone occupant of a westbound Hyundai Accent compact car at about 5:20 a.m.

A single vehicle collision took place about 5:19 a.m. Thursday on the east side of the Yellowhead Bridge in the City.

A strong chemical smell forced the evacuation of the Four Seasons Pool Wednesday afternoon. The alarm was sounded after a member of the maintenance staff noted the odour, said city recreation facilities manager Andy Beesley.

A car left the road westbound just before the Yellowhead Bridge at about 5:19 a.m. "It appears the vehicle went off road just before the bridge, struck the starting point of the cement meridian, which is like a ramp," said Const. Craig Douglass.
