The Prince George RCMP have identified the body found Feb. 22 near Prince George as those of a man who went missing in January. Police say Jordan Taylor McLeod is a homicide victim and continue to investigate his death.

As part of a 100th anniversary project, a group of elementary students from Harwin, Ron Brent and Spruceland came up with who they think are the city's top 15 citizens of the past century.

Public buses saw a swell in ridership during the two-week Canada Winter Games period. "There as about 40 to 50 per cent (increase) over the course of the Games," said city transportation manager Dave Bradshaw.

The federal police force is looking to balance the scales in air support. An aircraft swap is planned for later this year that would bring an RCMP helicopter to Prince George.

The RCMP are looking for a Prince George man wanted on a variety of charges.

History professor Jon Swainger has been teaching at the University of Northern B.C. since day one. "Literally day one," said Swainger, adding he was the first academic hired back in August 1992.

First responders and Prince George Search and Rescue are looking for a man who jumped off the Simon Fraser Bridge. Prince George RCMP received a report that someone had jumped from the span into the Fraser River shortly before 12:30 Thursday.

Prince George is home to one of 25 schools in B.C. that successfully requested money for carbon neutral upgrades. The $320,227 from the Ministry of Education will buy a boiler for Ecole Lac des Bois Elementary.
