The Northern Women's Centre is hosting an "informative, educational, and inspiring" open house Thursday afternoon to strengthen the status of women.
The centre, at the University of Northern B.C. calls itself a 24-hour safe space that offers programming, education and resources for women.
"We not only provide support, referrals, and advocacy for women in need, but educational opportunities for women to grow and empower others," the event release said.
The organization has worked on violence prevention on projects that deal with the Highway of Tears, equality for women and feminism in northern B.C.
The open house is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the centre, located next to the UNBC security office.
