A two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 has left one person dead, according to Williams Lake RCMP.

Mounties say the crash occurred around 5:23 p.m. on July 12, 2025, when a car with four occupants pulled onto the highway in front of a pickup truck.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The three passengers were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say the investigation is ongoing but believe speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
