Woman found dead in Hixon

A woman has been found dead in Hixon early Monday morning, RCMP say. Prince George RCMP said they received a report at around 6 a.m. of a "sudden death," but said the scene shows "no obvious signs of foul play.

A woman has been found dead in Hixon early Monday morning, RCMP say.

Prince George RCMP said they received a report at around 6 a.m. of a "sudden death," but said the scene shows "no obvious signs of foul play."

She was found dead near Hixon Creek Road and both RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are on the scene.

The Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section has been called in to help as as precaution. The BC Coroners Service has also been called.

Hixon is about 62 kilometres south of Prince George

CORRECTION: An earlier version said Hixon was east of Prince George. Hixon, of course, is south of the city.
