Woman fined for bootlegging

A Prince George woman was fined $800 in Prince George provincial court Wednesday for unlawfully selling liquor. Susan Smith, 49, must also pay a $120 victim surcharge for the violation of the Liquor Control Act.

Smith was one of two people arrested Dec. 7 after RCMP executed a search warrant on a Redwood Street home and uncovered a large amount of alcohol.

Police seized more than 750 cans or bottles of beer, 90 cans or bottles of premixed single-serving alcohol, 60 bottles of liquor in various sizes, 60 two-ounce bottles of liquor and one bottle of wine, Prince George RCMP said at the time.

A 30-year-old man was also arrested but not subsequently charged.
